John MacIntyre Scholarship
Supporting the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of REAVC members in pursuit of higher education.
Program Overview
The John MacIntyre Scholarship is named in honor of John MacIntyre, former president of the Retired Employees Association of Ventura County, who had a strong interest in facilitating higher education. The purpose of the scholarship is to recognize and support qualified students in their pursuit of higher education or training at an accredited institution.
One scholarship is named the SUSAN K. LACEY Distinguished Fellowship Scholarship in honor of Susan's service to the community and support of education.
Scholarship Amount
- One-time award up to $1,500
- Checks are made payable to the student
- Typically presented at a REAVC Membership Luncheon
- Recipients are encouraged to attend the luncheon; parents or sponsoring REAVC members may attend on the student's behalf
Who Can Apply?
Four requirements must be met to qualify for the John MacIntyre Scholarship.
REAVC Family Member
Must be a Member, Associate Member, or a child, grandchild, or great-grandchild of a REAVC Member or Associate Member.
Planning Higher Education
Plan to begin or continue studies in an accredited institution of higher education or technical school during the grant year.
Completed Application
Submit a completed application to the REAVC Scholarship Committee by the published deadline.
Proof of Acceptance
Be able to inform the Scholarship Committee of acceptance at an institution of higher education or technical school by the application deadline.
